China Time Travel

China Time Travel Blog

A travel blog is an online travel journal.
In this assignment you are going on an imaginary time-travelling journey through China.  Your posts should include some of the people/places/events which I provided to you.  Information on all of them may be found in your book, but could also come from other resources.  While you are not actually travelling to these places your blog should be written as if you did.

1.  Please have at least 10 posts.  Five comments need to be completed no later than midnight, May 9, 2014.  Five more need to be completed no later than midnight, May 23, 2014.  For a total of 10.
2.  Posts should be at least 1 large paragraph or two shorter paragraphs
3.  Each post should include mention of one of the people/place/event that I gave you, along with a thorough description of that person/place/event
4.  You will be graded on having the appropriate number of posts, your content, and your writing.  Think of them as mini essays
5.  Please keep all posts appropriate – remember that this is a graded assignment which I can review.  This is not the place for insulting comments.

Medieval Diary

Medieval Diary Blog

In this blog you will be keeping a diary of your life in the middle ages.  Each of you was assigned a position/profession, century, and country.  Your diary entries should reflect the general lifestyle of that person in the time and place.  Keep in mind the life of a peasant in the 7th century will be different than the life of a peasant in the 13th century.  All other details are up to you (names, family, etc.)

Your first set of five posts is due by midnight on October 4.

Your next set of five posts are due by midnight on October 18.

CP – posts should be two small or one medium-large paragraph.

Honors – posts should be two medium or one very large paragraph.

Posts should demonstrate an understanding of what life was like in the Middle Ages, and the role your fictional person would have played.  There are several sources online and I also have several books in my room.  I also recommend the Medieval Lives series by Terry Jones (yes of Monty Python).
